Kwelaku owned by Nigerian fashion designer Victoria Chikweluaku Anosike, is a Ready-To-Wear clothing line for women; employing tribal prints interpreted into chic functional silhouettes that can stand the test of time in terms of durability and style.
We aim to do our part in sharing the African story through our prints and pieces; while striving to give our customers a luxury brand experience within the premium space and our employees an enjoyable working environment.
The Kwelaku woman has a deep appreciation for African culture & craftsmanship. She loves to make a statement, but never overt.
I started Kwelaku as Kancky, a tribal tunic line started from my campus room back in 2014, styling mostly family and friends. The brand has now evolved into a full fledged womenswear label, operating out of her Lagos HQ and adorning women from all walks of life and every part of the world.
Kwelaku is coined from my middle name and means “to agree with wealth” and being inspired by my immediate environment (Nigeria) and the African continent as a whole, the brand’s essence is finally captured in this new identity because I not only want the Kwelaku woman to experience, but indeed exude the beauty of this rich culture whose story we aim to tell with our Tribal-Chic prints and pieces.
We are on a journey to impact Community positively by sustainable Collaborations that showcase Craftmanship and in doing so, uphold the African Culture.
